Explore Mexico
Mexico is often reduced to a single image — white Caribbean beach, turquoise water, palm tree. Yet the country is about five and a half times the size of Germany: a million metropolis at 2,240 meters, Mayan cities in the jungle, colonial cities in the highlands, a Pacific coast with humpback whales, desert, and vineyards in Baja California — all of this is one single country.
We know these regions from our own experience, and what fascinates us to this day is how different they are. Mexico City does not feel like Oaxaca , Oaxaca does not feel like the Yucatan Peninsula, and the peninsula does not feel like Baja California. If you only see one corner, you actually haven't seen anything yet.
That is exactly what makes planning the trip so exciting — and sometimes so difficult. Where to go first? How much time do you really need? When is the best time to travel, and how does it differ by region? Which neighborhoods, which coast, which airport? And what should you know before you travel?
Our Mexico travel guide gives you the overview: travel time, flights, entry, safety, costs, packing list, and health — honest and practical. We help you build the Mexico trip that suits you — whether you have two weeks or two months, whether you are visiting museums and Michelin-starred restaurants in the capital, swimming in a cenote, or drifting alongside whale sharks.
