You can immediately feel Bogotá's energy upon arrival. On a tour through La Candelaria, the historic heart of the city around the Plaza de Bolívar, you discover colonial facades and colorful painted house walls. The Gold Museum and the Botero Museum give you an initial insight into Colombia's art and history, before taking the cable car up to Monserrate. From up there, you look over the million-city surrounded by mountains – a breathtaking first impression of Colombia's diversity.

A short flight takes you from Bogotá to the Coffee Triangle, the heart of Colombian coffee production – from here you go into the green backdrop of the Andes cordillera. With the classic Willy Jeep, you drive into the Cocora Valley, where towering wax palms and countless hummingbirds are at home. A hike through the impressive landscape is a unique experience. Another highlight: A hot air balloon ride high above the coffee hills – a view of Colombia that only few travelers experience. At a traditional coffee farm, you also learn how the bean becomes the cup, and taste the coffee directly at the source.

From the coffee farm, you continue to Medellín, affectionately called 'the city of eternal spring' – a place that has reinvented itself from one of the most dangerous cities in the world to one of the most creative. The city's atmosphere is very special and can be discovered in many facets. Ride on Colombia's only elevated train and visit Comuna 13, whose impressive graffiti art tells the story of transformation. The colorful Guatapé awaits you with the Piedra del Peñol, a 200-meter-high monolith.

A flight takes you from Medellín to the Caribbean coast, to Cartagena. The old town is full of charm and invites you to wander on foot. The colorful house facades delight you at every corner. In the evenings, the lively streets come alive with live music and numerous restaurant invitations. Even on the water, this region offers exciting discoveries, for example, off the coast of Cartagena and the Rosario Islands.

After Andes, coffee hills, and vibrant cities, it becomes very quiet on Isla Barú: Just a short boat ride from Cartagena, you find Playa Blanca, one of the most beautiful Caribbean beaches in Colombia – powdery white sand, turquoise water, and dense tropical forest right behind it. The island has preserved its originality and thus forms the perfect contrast to the dense cultural program of the past days: no museum, no tour, no fixed destination – just time to let the experiences sink in. That’s exactly why Isla Barú is so well-suited as a finale: It allows your journey to slowly come to an end before the return flight over Bogotá awaits, sending you home with one last, very relaxed image of Colombia.
