Hacienda Bambusa

The architecture preserves the traditional building style of the region and harmoniously blends with its constructions of bamboo and clay into the surroundings. Rooms
You can choose from a total of seven suites, each with its own bathroom and private outdoor area: the four Junior Suites ranging from 52 to 69 square meters, the two Pool Suites from 103 to 118, and the Master Suite with 160 square meters, each including a balcony or terrace. The Junior Suites combine the sleeping area with a seating area, three are located on the upper floor and one on the ground floor, and in the hammock in front, you can spend the afternoon without a program. Coclí and Colibrí, the two Pool Suites on the ground floor, have spacious terraces with their own pool and seating area. The Alcaraván Master Suite is the largest unit: the bedroom and separate living room open onto a terrace with a pool, and in the living room, two extra beds for children can be set up. All units are furnished in a blend of local craftsmanship and colonial accents, combined with contemporary comfort, while bamboo and clay give the architecture its character.
Culinary
The kitchen is led by Paula Serna, who prepares Colombian dishes with vegetables from the on-site garden and selected regional products. Her approach combines traditional flavors with contemporary techniques, ensuring familiar recipes are presented in a new form. If you wish to cook yourself, a two-hour cooking class will guide you through recipes rooted in family traditions, such as empanadas or a sauce made from coffee. The Chontaduro, a classic fruit of the region that is hardly known outside of Colombia, is also featured. Additionally, a coffee tasting is dedicated to the area's flavors: a barista will show you how to extract notes of caramel or honey and what changes French Press and Chemex bring to the cup.
Activities
At the coffee estate, many activities start on foot or by bike, such as a two-hour walk to the neighboring farm La Isabela, where Ayda and Eloísa grow cocoa and demonstrate how the beans are fermented and dried. There is a rich variety of birdlife around the Hacienda, so you have a good chance of seeing hummingbirds or the Andean motmot on a morning tour with a specialized guide. Horseback rides through bamboo forests to the confluence of two rivers or a three-hour hike in the La María Nature Reserve offer a bit more activity. For those who want to experience the region from above, an early morning balloon ride over coffee farms and the Río Quindío is available; a yoga session in the garden or a massage with cocoa under the ancient Samán tree provides a calmer experience. For longer excursions, the team organizes trips to Salento and Cocora Valley or to the Santa Lucía coffee farm, which has been in operation since 1930.
Location
The majestic Andes, Colombian bamboo forests, and plantations shape the landscape of the Quindío region, in the southern part of Colombia's coffee region, where Hacienda Bambusa is located. The international airport El Edén is conveniently situated just 8.9 kilometers away and can be reached in about 40 minutes by car. The final stage of the journey takes you along a picturesque natural road through an idyllic farm area.
