The Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, was the first major hotel on today's world-famous beach and has since welcomed legends such as Marlene Dietrich, Josephine Baker, and the Rolling Stones. Just months after the opening, the first Copa Ball celebrated Carnival here, establishing a tradition of roaring nights that continues to this day. Two of the three restaurants hold a Michelin star: Mee is the only restaurant in Rio awarded for its pan-Asian cuisine, while Ristorante Hotel Cipriani serves northern Italian classics in a historic setting. At the pool, Pérgula offers the distinctive taste of Cariocas - here, it's best to order a Caipirinha with your Feijoada, Brazil's national dish. The Sunday brunch by the pool has long been an institution among both Cariocas and travelers, with live DJs and the famous yellow benches providing the perfect backdrop.

The historic pool of the Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel is one of the largest and most beautiful in the city and has already been the scene of legendary parties. During the day, you can relax in it and complement the day in the spa, fitness area, or on one of the two tennis courts. Only a few steps separate you from the Copacabana beach, while Sugarloaf Mountain, the Christ statue, and the creative district of Santa Teresa are just a few minutes away. When the hotel opened in 1923, it was the first large building on this stretch of coastline - today, Copacabana is one of the world's most famous city beaches. Sugarloaf Mountain and the Christ the Redeemer statue are approximately 20 minutes away by car, while the trendy district of Ipanema can be reached in just a few minutes on foot along the coast. The international airport Rio de Janeiro-Galeão is about 24 kilometers away.
