Fasano Salvador
High above the vibrant streets of the old town opens an oasis of timeless elegance and modern luxury. The Fasano Salvador resides in a listed Art Deco building directly at Castro Alves Square, which housed the editorial office and printing house of the daily newspaper "A Tarde" for 45 years before Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld - also responsible for the Fasano houses in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro - gently transformed it into a five-star hotel. Large windows and airy loggias open the view to the shimmering All Saints Bay, one of Brazil's most beautiful postcard motifs. On the spectacular rooftop terrace, the pool lined with blue Bahia granite visually merges with the expanses of the ocean. Since its opening in December 2018 - with an appearance by Bahia's most famous son Caetano Veloso - you can experience the Brazilian way of life with all your senses here, from relaxed enjoyment of regional delicacies to rejuvenating wellness moments above the rooftops of the old town.

Rooms
The 70 apartments of Fasano Salvador impress with a customized design, where deep shades of blue in noble fabrics, carpets, and locally made ceramics artistically reflect the colors of the sea. All units are equipped with exquisite hardwood floors and high-quality beds for ultimate sleeping comfort. In the Superior and Deluxe rooms, which measure around 30 to 40 square meters, you can expect modern marble bathrooms with spacious high-pressure showers. The Junior and Ocean Front Suites offer a spacious feeling with integrated or separate living rooms, a private dining area for four people, and a freestanding bathtub with a direct view of the All Saints Bay.
Culinary
The gastronomic concept of the house combines the internationally appreciated tradition of the Fasano group with the vibrant flavors of Bahian cuisine. At the restaurant Gero Salvador, the kitchen team conjures up Italian classics such as spaghettini with shrimp in lemon sauce, tender rib-eye steaks, or traditional gnocchi with peppers and pecorino. The menu is complemented by Bahian specialties from local chef Tereza Paim, including the famous moqueca stews, creamy shrimp bobó, and baked cocada for dessert. High above on the terrace, the relaxed pool bar offers a comprehensive wine and drink menu with light dishes and fine appetizers in the open air.
Activities
The Fasano Salvador offers an extensive range of leisure and relaxation options and focuses on the spectacular rooftop and exclusive wellness experiences. The inviting rooftop area with wooden deck and granite-effect pool is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the wide view of the bay. Directly on the rooftop there is also a modern fitness center equipped with the latest training equipment for a sporty variety. The Fasano Spa, led by holistic therapist Fabrícia Nogueira, ensures deep regeneration of body and mind, with three massage areas and a treatment menu tailored to Bahian culture. In October 2025, the hotel was also awarded a MICHELIN Key - a confirmation of architecture, service, and the special connection to the historic center of Salvador.
Location
The hotel is located in a privileged position directly at the historic Castro Alves Square in the heart of the UNESCO-listed old town center of Salvador da Bahia. It was here in 1808 that the Portuguese royal court was received upon its arrival in Brazil - today you can enjoy an unobstructed panoramic view of the vast All Saints Bay from the hotel's elevated position. The international airport of Salvador can be comfortably reached in about 35 to 45 minutes by car, depending on traffic. The hotel is also the ideal starting point to explore the rich culture, colonial buildings of Pelourinho, and the vibrant atmosphere of the Bahian capital conveniently on foot.
