Where the desert of Baja California meets the Sea of Cortés, Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, opens its doors to the coast of San José del Cabo. The buildings nestle into the sand dunes, and behind the glass sliding doors, the boundary between indoors and outdoors disappears. The water in front becomes a space for discovery, while the desert behind offers a place of silence. In the rooms, guests encounter the crafts of the land, textiles and objects from artisans from Oaxaca and Puebla, giving a room the appearance of a collection. It remains quiet all around, as Puerto Los Cabos is a private enclave with short paths and little distraction. In front of each accommodation, there is a terrace with its own plunge pool, from which the view extends over the water. A total of 113 units are distributed across the property, ranging from rooms to villas. Some of them are located directly on the beach, while others face the landscaped gardens, where it is noticeably quieter. The open horizon features both sunrise and sunset. The villas of the Residences are larger, with three to six bedrooms, among which the five-bedroom villa with sea view measures around 1,060 square meters, while the two-story Grand Reserve Villa combines five bedrooms and its own kitchen directly on the beach. Everything is furnished in the spirit of Mexican haciendas, the bathrooms are spaciously designed and equipped with both indoor and outdoor showers, and in the living area, there is enough space for the camp that the house sets up for children in the room.

Food in San José del Cabo is considered an expression of family and community, and this is precisely what the house's cuisine connects to. The day begins at El Barrio, which brings the warmth of a Mexican home to the beach and also serves breakfast. For lighter moments by the water, the menu at X Ceviches offers options, along with cocktails that tell the stories of the tides of the coast. In Humo, the open fire sets the tone in the evening when local fish and vegetables are grilled over the coals, accompanied by Mexican wines. Later, the day often ends at the Candil Agave Bar, where spirits derived from agave, from tequila to Bacanora, are served under hand-blown glass.
Activities
The Sea of Cortés has been known as the Aquarium of the World since Jacques Cousteau, and many days here are oriented around that. In winter, whales migrate to the warmer waters, accompanied by manta rays, and private excursions bring you close to them. Underwater, guides from the Ambassadors of the Environment program, which has a partnership with Jean-Michel Cousteau, lead visitors to the reefs and explain the ecosystems of the peninsula. On land, the Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club awaits with 27 holes designed by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus, framed by the Sierra de la Laguna. It becomes calmer at Sensei at Zadún, where guides work on movement and nutrition, and a hydrotherapy circuit invites relaxation. For children, the Guardians of Baja program shares stories about the desert and the coast, accompanied by a sea turtle and a sea lion as figures.
Location
The resort is located in the coastal area of Puerto Los Cabos at the eastern edge of San José del Cabo, in the state of Baja California Sur. According to the house, Los Cabos International Airport is 5.1 kilometers away, there is no own shuttle, private transfers can be arranged by the resort upon request. The Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club is accessible in about five minutes, and the marina of Puerto Los Cabos lies in the immediate vicinity. The center of San José del Cabo, with the arts district and the Misión de San José del Cabo Añuiti, is nearby, as is the wetland Estero San José del Cabo. Further west, the Transpeninsular Highway passes the Club Campestre San José at eleven kilometers and the Cabo Real Golf Club at 21 kilometers.
