Cabins
The accommodations blend harmoniously into the dense jungle greenery as private sanctuaries and are designed entirely in the spirit of connection to nature. Spacious deluxe cabins with king-size beds, bathtubs, indoor hammocks, and large private terraces are available for couples and families. The classic family and couple cabins offer cozy sleeping spaces with protective mosquito nets, outdoor bathrooms, and integrated catamaran nets for relaxation. A highlight is the unique canopy cabin, which rises without walls over 106 steps above the ground in the treetops. This adventurous unit allows guests to feel the gentle wind and observe the sunrise as well as passing macaws directly from their beds.
Culinary
The cuisine of the house celebrates the essence of the rainforest and connects nature with the authentic flavors of the region. In the restaurant, which offers a direct view of the local wildlife with its high walls, fresh and local ingredients are served. Flexibility is prioritized, allowing the menu to be easily adapted to vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free diets. The cozy Guayabero Bar by the riverside also invites guests to enjoy refreshing drinks while taking in views of the Sierra de La Macarena and the sunset. While guests relax here, the soft murmurs of the river and the regular visits of curious capuchin monkeys in the afternoon create a very special backdrop.
Activities
The diverse range of activities leads to spectacular natural wonders that unfold their full splendor depending on the season. From June to November, the famous, colorful river Caño Cristales, with its red and green water plants and hidden natural pools, captivates visitors. The drier months from December to March are ideal for boat tours through the impressive rock walls of Angosturas Canyon. Exploring the mystical stone labyrinths of Ciudad de Piedra, hiking to the panoramic viewpoint El Mirador, and peaceful paddling tours on Laguna del Silencio offer unforgettable experiences. Exotic birds, monkeys, turtles, and with a bit of luck, even pink river dolphins can be observed on all excursions as well as directly around the lodge.
Location
The lodge is located in a privileged spot directly on the banks of the Guayabero River, just a 30-minute boat ride upstream from the town of La Macarena. This boat ride already serves as the first opportunity to spot birds, turtles, or dolphins in their natural environment. Accessibility to La Macarena is conveniently possible by plane from Bogotá, Medellín, or Villavicencio.
