Wood-beamed ceilings span the living areas, and the furnishings come from Mexican workshops. There are 67 rooms and suites available, as well as ten residences with areas ranging from approximately 53 to 269 square meters. On the ground floor, you step directly into the garden, where a Colonial Room offers you a private terrace and a bathroom with a freestanding tub. One floor up, the balconies face El Centro or the pools, and in the Junior Suites, a fireplace made of natural stone crackles over wooden floors. At the very top, the view becomes the floor plan, as the Parroquia Suite sets its terrace opposite the parish church, and the Rosewood Suite distributes the dining room, lounge, and plunge pool across the entire attic. Separate from this, the residences can accommodate up to four bedrooms around their own patios.
Culinary
What is served on the plate is based on the fields of the region and techniques that have been handed down there for generations. At the open wood fire of the Pirules Garden Kitchen, Chef Odín Rocha uses them, with ingredients sourced from approximately 100 kilometers away. The same origins shape the menu of the 1826 Restaurant, named after the independence hero Ignacio Allende, where you can sit inside or outside on the garden terrace. As evening approaches, drinks take center stage, with a selection of tequilas and mezcals at the 1826 Tequila Bar and small companions to go along. When the sun sets over the rooftops, the table moves to the Luna Rooftop, where Mediterranean influences meet Mexican products, while by the pool, Agua offers light dishes and drinks.
Activities
Here, you can get hands-on with many activities, such as in a painting class alongside an artist from the city. A cooking class begins at the market, continues into the surrounding gardens, and only ends at the stove, where traditional recipes are created from the gathered ingredients. In the most traditional workshop in San Miguel, you will mold a Mojiganga in miniature, just as they have been created there for generations. On horseback, you leave the houses, descend into a gorge, and reach a natural river at the end. At Sense, A Rosewood Spa, rituals like a cacao ceremony or an immersion in rose quartz draw from Otomí knowledge and local plants.
Location
San Miguel de Allende is located in the highlands of the state of Guanajuato, north of Mexico City. The museums and squares of the center can be reached on foot from the property, and the Instituto de Allende borders directly on it. The travel time from León Airport (BJX) is about one hour, and from Mexico City (MEX) approximately two and a half hours. The hotel organizes private transfers from both airports as well as from Querétaro (QRO).
