Titilaka

Titilaka is located on its own peninsula on the southeast shore of Lake Titicaca, surrounded by water on three sides and shared with no one except the neighboring Aymara community. The lodge belongs to Relais & Châteaux and distributes its 18 rooms and suites over three floors – each one with a view of the lake, half facing sunrise and the other half facing sunset. Surrounding terraces, wooden walkways, and two private beaches bring the landscape right up to the house. Rooms

The 18 units are spread over three floors and three categories: King Rooms, Dawn and Dusk Rooms, and Corner Suites, ranging from 30 to 43 square meters. They are either oriented towards sunrise or sunset – the corner suites get both. Underfloor heating, oversized bathtubs, rain showers, and Pima cotton ensure comfort, while local textiles and art from the region maintain the connection to the place. In front of the windows, each room has a bench from which you can watch the light over the lake. The minibar is stocked and complimentary, and one of the King Rooms is designed to be barrier-free.

Culinary

The restaurant opens up with floor-to-ceiling windows towards the water. The cuisine is contemporary Peruvian and consistently uses what the region has to offer: trout from Lake Titicaca, alpaca from the highlands, potatoes, and grains from the local farms. All meals and drinks are included in the stay, as is room service, available around the clock. If you prefer to be alone, you can have dinner brought to the terrace or your room.

Activities

The daily excursions are part of the stay and are planned together with your Experience Concierge. From the private dock, you can take a boat to the Uros reed islands and to Taquile, on land to the burial towers of Sillustani and to the Aymara villages nearby. It gets more active with kayaking, stand-up paddling, cycling, hiking, or bird-watching tours. Inside the house, there’s a spa, three lounges, a games room, a bar, and a small boutique. And for those who want to do nothing at all, there are plenty of spots on the walkways and the two private beaches.

Location

The peninsula is located on the southeast shore of Lake Titicaca, about an hour's drive from Puno and roughly two hours from Juliaca Airport. Four hectares of land, two private beaches, and a private dock are included – the nearest town is far enough away that at night you can only hear the water. From the dock, you start towards the floating Uros reed islands and Taquile, where the Quechua community still preserves its weaving traditions. On land, the burial towers of Sillustani and the colonial churches of Juli, Pomata, and Lampa are within reach. The lake itself, at nearly 3,800 meters, is the highest navigable lake in the world – expect intense sun during the day and cool nights.
