The 40 square meter Superior Rooms offer modern comfort in studio style, while the Junior and west-facing Premium Suites provide ample space on 44 square meters, including an outdoor terrace. For families or groups, the freestanding Senda Suite, as the largest and most private bungalow highlight at nearly 88 square meters, offers a generous home in the mountains. All units are also well-prepared for guests with mobility restrictions.
Culinary
At El Sapo Restaurant & Bar, a genuine, tasty cuisine is served that reflects the personality of the region. The culinary creations consistently rely on hyper-local, fresh, and sustainable ingredients, some of which are grown directly in the hotel’s greenhouse. Situated on a plateau, the large panoramic windows of the restaurant offer a spectacular view of the highlands and the picturesque sunsets during à la carte breakfast, lunch, or dinner. International classics are refined by the kitchen team with a unique, regional twist.
Activities
The spectacular highlands offer countless bucket-list experiences right at your doorstep, accompanied by in-house nature guides. Adventurous souls can fly over the treetops while zip-lining or cross the longest suspension bridges in the country at Selvatura Park to observe rare birds like the Quetzal. After outings in the cloud forest, the heated pool and hot tubs in the terrace gardens invite you to relax in the warm water while the cool mountain air flows through the trees. The open yoga studio with a surrounding balcony also provides space for morning classes, while exciting night hikes with flashlights bring the fascinating ecosystem to life after dark.
Location
The Senda Monteverde Hotel is located in the northwestern highlands of Costa Rica, just minutes from the famous cloud forest reserves of Monteverde and Santa Elena. Due to the elevated position, you enjoy wide views over the highlands and, on clear days, can see the Gulf of Nicoya in the distance. The international airport San José is the nearest major airport and can be reached in about a 2.5 to 3-hour drive.
