Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba

Rooms
The Casitas are spread out across the grounds, so you step directly outside from your own little house in the morning. In the main house, the rooms range from the compact Superior-Deluxe category to Junior Suites and the Urubamba Suite, up to the Owners Quarters, totaling from 24 to 190 square meters. Each category has a terrace from which the view looks over the mountains and the estate's fields; from the upper floor of the Owners Quarters, the view expands over the entire valley. In the evening, several categories feature a fireplace, and the beds are adorned with blankets made from baby alpaca and handwoven wool throws. The bathrooms are spacious, where the heated holder warms the Pima cotton towels.
Culinary
Harvested on the own organic farm, cooked just a few steps away. The kitchen creates a Peruvian menu from it, served in the restaurant and on the adjacent terraces. Outside, you have the valley and surrounding mountains before you, and those who prefer to spend the evening alone can be served in their own dining area. At cocktail hour, the bar fills with infused piscos and a wide selection of wines. In the afternoon, the in-house organic black tea is brewed for house guests, which is only available at Inkaterra. It was awarded the Gourmet Gold Medal in 2023 and a year later with Silver at the Teas of the World Awards.
Activities
The estate itself is the first excursion, even before the road into the valley is used. The paths begin directly behind the house and lead into the fields and slopes of the property. On them, you can observe birds of prey and hummingbirds, while the ascent to the hill Challa Huasi opens the view over Huayoccari. At sunset, there is a guided hike into twilight, discussing the role of astronomy in the Andean world. On the grounds, you will also learn how the Inca drink Chicha de Jora is made from harvesting and grinding to tasting, and excursions can be arranged for an additional fee further into the valley, such as down the Inca trail from Chinchero to Urquillos. Back at the house, Mayu Spa works with purely natural products, and in the adjacent healing garden, you harvest the herbs for your own treatment.
Location
The house is located in the town center of Huayoccari, in the Huayllabamba district of the Urubamba province. The Sacred Valley of the Incas forms the connection from Cusco to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, allowing both destinations to be reached from here. Within reach are the circular terraces of Moray and the salt ponds of Maras, as well as several colonial towns in the valley. Climatically, the Sacred Valley is one of the most pleasant regions of the Andes. Access is via the road Cusco–Urubamba–Pisac–Calca, where the estate is located at kilometer 63.
